SUMMARY:Clue: The Play
DESCRIPTION:SELAH THEATRE PROJECT OPENS THE VIVIENNE L. JACKSON SANCTUARY FOR THE ARTS WITH CLUE\nBeloved whodunit becomes the inaugural production at Selah Theatre Project’s new permanent home in Winchester\, Virginia\nWINCHESTER\, VA — September 9\, 2026 — Selah Theatre Project\, the Winchester-based\, socially conscious theatre company known for its commitment to “Unapologetic Art\,” will christen its new permanent home\, The Vivienne L. Jackson Sanctuary for the Arts (VLJ)\, with a production of the fan-favorite comedic mystery Clue\, opening in October 2026. \nThe production marks a milestone moment for Selah Theatre: after 15 seasons of building community through a “roaming” model\, staging productions across borrowed and rented spaces throughout the region\, construction delays\, the company will raise its curtain for the first time inside a space it can call its own. Located at 302 N. Braddock Street in Winchester in the former First United Methodist Church\, VLJ represents the culmination of years of vision\, fundraising\, and community partnership\, and stands as a home not only for Selah Theatre’s resident productions\, but for the wider Winchester arts community. \nClue was selected as the VLJ opener following a shift in the Season 15 production calendar. Come From Away\, originally slated to open the venue\, has been moved to May 2027 due to ongoing construction and utility delays. Rather than delay the opening of VLJ itself\, Selah Theatre Project’s leadership chose to reorder the season\, bringing the ensemble comedy Clue forward as the production that will formally welcome audiences into the Sanctuary for the first time. \n“For fifteen seasons\, Selah Theatre Project has made home wherever a community would have us: borrowed stages\, borrowed rooms\, borrowed grace. Opening VLJ’s doors with Clue is a chance to say come laugh with us first.” said Bleu Do’zia\, Director and Founding Artistic Director of Selah Theatre Project. “Before we ask you to sit with the harder stories we tell\, we wanted this space’s first breath to be joy\, a room full of neighbors\, guessing wrong together. This building is ours now\, and it’s rooted in this community. Clue is just the doorway in.” \nBased on the classic Hasbro board game and the 1985 cult film\, Clue invites audiences into a rollicking\, fast-paced whodunit full of secret passages\, absurd alibis\, and a body count that keeps climbing. The production leans into Selah Theatre Project’s tradition of bold\, community-forward theatre-making\, even as it offers a lighter\, comedic counterpoint to the company’s typically issue-driven programming. \nThe production also arrives as a quiet tribute to actor Tim Curry\, who originated the role of Wadsworth the butler in the 1985 film and died in August 2026 at age 80. For a company opening its first permanent home with this particular story\, the timing carries extra weight. \nCAST\nThe production features the following cast: \nCharacter \nActor \nMiss Scarlet \nCharley Carfrey \nColonel Mustard \nRobert Elson \nMrs. White \nJoanna Schilling \nMr. Green \nJack Benner \nMrs. Peacock \nPaige Ulevich \nProfessor Plum \nJacob Reed \nWadsworth \nAsher Fincham \nYvette \nAlyssah Rodgers \nMr. Boddy \nJasper Simpson \nCook \nDanielle Juratovac \nCop \nOwen Uhry \nUnderstudy \nClaire Benner \nPERFORMANCE DETAILS\nShow: Clue \nVenue: The Vivienne L. Jackson Sanctuary for the Arts (VLJ)\, 302 N. Braddock Street\, Winchester\, VA \nOpening Night: October 9-11 & 16-18 \nPerformance Dates: Friday performances at 7PM\, Saturday performances at either 2PM or 7PM\, Sunday performances at 2PM \nTickets: selahtheatreproject.org/season \nABOUT THE VIVIENNE L. JACKSON SANCTUARY FOR THE ARTS\nThe Vivienne L. Jackson Sanctuary for the Arts (VLJ) is Selah Theatre Project’s new permanent home in Winchester\, Virginia. Following years as a “roaming” company staging productions throughout the region\, Selah Theatre Project’s move into VLJ gives the organization\, and the broader Winchester arts community\, a dedicated space to create\, gather\, and tell stories rooted in place. VLJ will host Selah Theatre Project’s mainstage productions as well as community and partner programming. \nABOUT SELAH THEATRE PROJECT\nSelah Theatre Project is a socially conscious non-profit theatre company based in Winchester\, Virginia\, dedicated to “Unapologetic Art” bold\, issue-driven storytelling that centers community and challenges audiences to see the world\, and each other\, more clearly. Now in its 15th season\, themed “We Are Rooted\,” Selah Theatre Project produces original works alongside beloved favorites\, and operates Upstage Acting Academy\, a youth conservatory program for young performers. Selah Theatre Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

SUMMARY:Fall Art Series
DESCRIPTION:The YDC is excited to welcome young artists back for our Fall Art Series\, a free program designed to inspire creativity\, confidence\, and imagination in children ages 6–12. \nLed by Allee Coffman\, Lead Art Teacher and Shenandoah University student\, this eight-week series will introduce participants to the exciting world of abstract art. Unlike traditional art classes\, abstract art encourages children to think beyond rules and expectations. It gives them the freedom to explore\, experiment\, make creative choices\, and express themselves without worrying about creating the “perfect” piece. Along the way\, they’ll build confidence\, strengthen problem-solving skills\, and discover that creativity looks different for everyone. \nClasses will be held Saturdays from 10:00–11:00 AM\, beginning September 12\, at the YDC. \nThanks to the generosity of our donors\, this program is completely free for participating families. Registration is required\, and space is limited\, so we encourage families to reserve their child’s spot early. \nCome create\, imagine\, and discover the joy of making art in a fun\, welcoming environment!

Registration is required\, and space is limited\, so we encourage families to reserve their child’s spot early. \nCome create\, imagine\, and discover the joy of making art in a fun\, welcoming environment!

SUMMARY:YDC Community Flow
DESCRIPTION:YDC Community Flow is a weekly adult vinyasa yoga class designed to support physical wellness\, mental clarity\, and meaningful connection. \nBeginning September 1\, this ongoing Tuesday evening class invites adults of all experience levels to explore movement\, breath\, and mindfulness in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Each 75-minute session is thoughtfully structured to guide participants through grounding\, mobility\, a dynamic vinyasa flow\, and restorative rest\, helping to build strength\, flexibility\, and balance while also providing tools for stress reduction and overall well-being. \nLed by a certified yoga instructor\, classes are adaptable and accessible\, with modifications and variations offered to support both beginners and more experienced practitioners. Yoga mats and blocks are provided to ensure a seamless experience\, but we welcome to bring your own if that’s your preference. The cost is donation based. $5-$10/class is suggested\, but we encourage each community member to give what they can. Your donation will help us continue to provide free and low-cost programs to our fellow community members. \nBeyond the physical benefits\, YDC Community Flow is designed to create space for connection. As the YDC continues to expand its programming\, this class offers an opportunity for adults to engage with the YDC in a new way\, fostering a sense of belonging and positioning the YDC as a hub for holistic wellness and lifelong learning in the Winchester community.
